Advent Calendar – December 11
I came across this quote from the book “Lift Him Up”:
“The world’s Redeemer (another name for Jesus and one that describes something He offers everyone) possessed the power to draw men to Himself, to quiet their fear, to dispel their gloom, to inspire them with hope and courage.”
In my work I meet with people going through really tough times and I feel so helpless with the limited help I can offer them. If everyone did a little something to bring people hope this Christmas it would be a good thing. Just this week a survey conducted for Airbnb found that 47% of British people who celebrate Christmas would welcome a lonely person into their home to spend Christmas with them. That’s very encouraging. It embraces the spirit of Christmas.
I believe that there is only one person, Jesus, who can make a real difference that lasts for ever. It is because Jesus came to earth as a baby and then died on a cross as a man that He has provided a way to end suffering and hardship for ever.
