C.A.F.E. – Creative Arts For Everyone – Easter 2017
Come and join the creative arts team C.A.F.E.
On Good Friday (14th April) C.A.F.E with partners REACH Up and Calmore Acro Zone will present the Easter story in an extravaganza of Creative Arts at the Calmore Community Centre. Doors open at 7:00pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. Entry is FREE and there will be refreshments sold in aid of two charities.
Calmore Acro Zone is the local gymnastics and acrobatics club sponsored by The Watering Hole. They meet every Monday at Calmore Junior School 4:30-6:30pm.
REACH Up are the puppet team from Calmore Junior School and is operated by The Watering Hole for the benefit of younger puppeteers.
C.A.F.E., which stands for Creative Arts For Everyone, is The Watering Hole‘s creative arts team. It originally began as a puppet team but has branched out into other creative and performing arts. Puppetry is still very much the core of C.A.F.E.’s creative arts. However, blacklight theatre, mime, shadow theatre and dance have all been added over the years.
C.A.F.E. have put on a creative arts Christmas show for eight years which has proved immensely popular. As a result they have also performed at Easter for the last two years – this year will be the third Easter performance.
C.A.F.E. needs you!
In addition C.A.F.E. have been asked to perform at the Calmore Community Centre Open Day, at a Foster Carers Association children’s Christmas party and run workshops at a Special Needs Weekend Retreat.
As The Watering Hole is a church group C.A.F.E. also occasionally perform at our church services and has been invited to other churches as well.
Each year the team attend the International Creative Arts Festival in Rugby where we share our creative expertise and get new ideas for our own performances.
C.A.F.E. is recruiting to expand the team. If you would like to give it a go then you would be more than welcome. There are areas other than performing where you could contribute. For example technical or computer savvy people are needed for lighting, special effects, sound and editing. There is also a need for people willing to in charge of costumes and props.
