Easter: Super hero
I used to love watching Robin Hood films and if I remember correctly at least once in each film Robin Hood dramatically rescues some poor victim of the villain’s tyranny who is either standing on a scaffold with a rope around their neck or about to have his or her head cut off. Robin Hood is the hero of the hour as he saves the individual and takes them to a place of safety.
At Easter we focus an altogether different kind of super hero. Not one from folk lore or the TV screen but a hero who from the start of this world’s history has made it His life work to rescue people.
Easter; God, passionately caring about people; hating the fact that people hurt people; hurting as he watches injustice and tyranny putting a noose around our lives.
Easter; A time when we focus on this aspect of God’s character.
Easter; God demonstrating His love for us and revealing the high quality of life and friendship that we can enjoy if we enter into an everlasting friendship with God and let Him rescue us from ourselves and our sometimes poor choices.
This Easter, as you join with us in our celebration services or hang out with us in life groups I hope that you will discover the friendship of Jesus and just how much he was willing to do to help that friendship happen.
Check out the times and venues for all our easter activities. You won’t want to miss any of them.
