Kayak Club trip – July 2016
Warsash to Moody’s Boatyard
Sunday 217th July we will be taking a trip in the kayaks up the Hamble River.
We will meet at the Rising Sun car park in Warsash at 08:30. All competent paddlers (suitable competency is assessed by the lead coach) should be on the water by 09:00. We will head for Moodys Boat Yard in Lower Swanick where we will take a short break. After which we will return to the Rising Sun car park.
This trip is approximately 4.5 miles/7 km and is tide assisted
Kayaking on the River Hamble
It is possible for lunch to be purchased at the Rising Sun Pub after the trip. The trip is expected to finish approximately 13:00.
Directions to the Rising Sun in Warsash
- From M27 Junction 2 – continue on M27 until Junction 8
- At Junction 8 take the 3rd exit to Bursledon (Tescos)
- At the next round about take the first exit
- Follow this road, under the train bridge, over the water, past Moodys boat yard, up the hill and turn right into Barnes Lane (opposite the shops).
- Follow Barns lane for about a mile until the T junction at the end of the road and turn right.
- Follow the road until you reach the round about (The Ferry Inn Pub) and take the 3rd
- Drive past the shops and take a sharp left hand bend past the carpark on the right.
- Follow the road for 200mtrs and park up in the carpark opposite the Rising Sun Carpark.
- Meet Rob in the car park.
PLEASE NOTE: As the trip is tide-assisted it is important that we are on the water 09:00 therefore please meet in the Rising Sun Car Park at 8:30.
