Make a difference
If you haven’t already seen fireworks being let off then you surely will over the next few days as people celebrate bonfire night. I remember the chant I used to sing in school; “Remember, remember the 5th of November, gun powder, treason and plot….” If there was more I have forgotten what it was.
What a thing to be remembered for; a failed attempt at blowing up the Houses of Parliament.
It got me thinking. In the years to come, what would you be remembered for?
This week has been National Make a Difference Week when people throughout the UK have been encouraged to give of their time and volunteer to do something that will make a difference in the lives of others. Some have dug community gardens, weeded old folks plots, tidied up waste ground and a myriad other acts of kindness.
God also considers acts of kindness as being very important in our daily lives. In the Bible This is what He asks of people who believe in Him, who want to follow His example,
The Lord has told you, human, what is good; he has told you what he wants from you:
to do what is right to other people, love being kind to others, and live humbly, obeying your God. Micah 6:8
Now imagine life in your home, street, school or workplace if it wasn’t just a make a difference once a year but every day living as God intended humans to live.
