Rounders Coach and Life Coach
Last Saturday at Church in the Forest we discovered some amazing things about God’s creation and had some unexpected four-legged visitors. New Forest ponies, cows and a few deer, which we had to go and visit, served to illustrate the wonder of God’s creation. (see information below)
Our sporty theme for the week was rounders and during our discussion we came up with all sorts of interesting things that Jesus might say if he was both our rounders coach and our life coach. We used several books of the Bible such as Thessalonians and Timothy to help us.
Some of the coaching points made were:
Make the most of every opportunity
Think as a team and not as an individual
If you are to win you need to be fit and stay focused
It struck me that in each case the coaching tips we discovered could be applied in the game of rounders (or any other team sport) as well as our own lives. Following these tips and applying them to our lives means we will get the most out of it just as Jesus wants for us.
It got me wondering as to how often and well I put into practise the things that God advises me. Do I view my life in the same way that dedicated sportsmen do? God wants me to not just live but live abundantly. This coming week I am going to try and ask my “Heavenly Life Coach’ for more advise and then put it into practise. Abundant life here I come!
